    Your skills will never be out of date working with the latest and greatest technologies at Tacit Knowledge. As you move from one client engagement (average project is 6-9 months) to the next, you will have ongoing exposure to multiple business problems, clients, and technology stacks.

    • Listen, learn and consult. This is a client facing services role where you will interact directly and frequently with outside business and technical stakeholders
    • Act as the primary technical point of contact, taking personal responsibility for project success
    • Set the technical direction of projects, arbitrating major technical decisions
    • Have technical issues escalate to you because team members genuinely want and respect your opinion – not because it’s their job to ask for it
    • Lead and mentor highly talented and motivated software engineers to become even better
    • Think long term. Prioritize. Write Code. Review code. Stabilize. Deploy. Streamline. Optimize
    • Ensure projects are realistic, interesting and fun - for everyone involved


    • 5 or more years of experience making significant contributions developing software in a highly challenging technical enterprise environment
    • Expert in Java coupled with a toolbox of other languages (e.g. Python, Javascript, Scala, Groovy, C#, or Ruby)
    • Experience in building and architecting large software engineering efforts
    • Extensive experience in providing expertise on optimization, networks, database architecture, performance testing or application frameworks
    • Familiarity with Scrum or Extreme Programming (XP) project methodologies to manage successful projects
    • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) principles and tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity and Bamboo
    • Ability to communicate effectively across a range of industries with diverse technologies
    • A track record of mentoring software engineers; A genuine interest in helping other people grow
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; We won’t hold a Masters or a PhD against you.

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with leading ecommerce solutions such as Hybris or Adobe AEM is a big plus
    • Experience in working as a professional consultant. Bonus points if you’ve been the primary point of contact with clients
    • Familiarity with infrastructure configuration and automation tools such as Chef, Vagrant, Ansible, Puppet and Salt
    • Experience in collaborating with remote/offshore development teams
