  • Overview

    The Lead Information Security Engineer will be responsible for managing product, application, and infrastructure security for Newgistics, a Pitney Bowes business unit located in Austin, Texas. Reporting to the Newgistics’ VP of IT and part of the Pitney Bowes Global Product Security Team, you will implement and maintain the information security policies that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer, employee, and business information in compliance with organization policies and standards. This is an individual contributor role with very strong technical and influencing skills.


    • Works across teams to perform threat analysis, build security into designs, and meet security compliance requirements.
    • Perform vulnerability scans and organizes penetration tests of products and infrastructure.
    • Sets up security testing automaton in a product development environment.
    • Collaborates with Developers, Architects, Product Owners and Test Engineers in an agile organization.
    • Provides leadership to remediate or resolve security vulnerabilities and incidents.
    • Protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of or processed by the business unit.
    • Help with information security questionnaires from prospects during the sales/implementation stages
    • Work individually or within a team on information security consulting projects to meet specific customer requirements.
    • Conduct security research in keeping abreast of latest security issues.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
    • 5+ years of IT or Product Security Experience.
    • Broad technical and security background across all security domains (perimeter security, data security, identity and access management, operating systems, and applications)
    • Understanding of SOX controls, testing, and process
    • Knowledge of information security standards, rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality.
    • Excellent problem solving, analytical, organization, task, and time management skills
    • Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.
    • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
    • CISSP and programming experience are a plus.
    • This position requires some weekend and evening assignments as well as availability during off-hours for participation in scheduled and unscheduled activities.
