  • Overview

    As the Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing products and enhancements to existing products that will enhance our ability to deliver parcels that originate outside of the United States. You will have subject matter expertise and direct experience in eCommerce, International shipping and customs clearance, UX/UI design, and API development.

     

    The Product Manager is responsible for Product Management activities within the context of the overall corporate plan to meet company objectives. You will partner with the Vice President of Product Management to identify and implement a strategic roadmap that positions {COMPANY} as the leading provider of E-Commerce and Supply Chain Solutions for emerging online marketers seeking full service solutions and established firms seeking faster, more innovative access to underserved customer segments. You will manage product lifecycles and product positioning through the identification of customer needs, customer feedback, customer usage, operational data, market research, and competitive/market trends. You will act as a technical advisor for specific product(s); will initiate and foster relationships with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Technology, and Operations to develop new products and/or enhance functionality of existing product(s) and will ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

    Responsibilities

     

    The Product Manager owns all aspects of the following as they relate to Product:

     

    Business Planning and Management

     

      1. Responsibility for identifying and developing new products and concepts to help grow an international delivery business.
      2. Develops a product roadmap that supports corporate objectives
      3. Evaluates new product concepts and product enhancement requests from customers and cross-functional teams for consideration in the product roadmap
      4. Determines priority of new product concepts and product enhancements
      5. Prepares business cases, product strategy, profit and loss projections and market requirement documents.
      6. Evaluates competitors' products, determining market share and market trends and informs others by maintaining and distributing competitive comparisons and evaluations and leverages those learnings into the strategy for the product roadmap and launch strategy
      7. Coordinates all aspects of the business relating to the product line by acting as a liaison to Operations, Finance, Technology and Sales.

     

    Product Development

      1. Works within the Scrum development framework.
      2. Use Voice of the Customer to gather needs used to inform product development strategies
      3. Manages 3rd Party Research initiatives and plays an active role in defining the strategy, target audience, screening tools, methodology, scripts, evaluation criteria, presentations, and responses to key learnings
      4. Researches, evaluates and recommends product packaging/bundling/pricing alternatives and third-party partnerships to Executive team
      5. Partners with Product Agency partners to develop packaging and marketing vehicles

     

    Sales and Marketing

     

      1. Develops product segmentation and positioning strategies. Works closely with Sales Support to identify target market; Works closely with Product and Corporate Marketing to develop product collateral, press releases and other market-facing documentation.
      2. Defines the go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
      3. Develops and implements training for the Sales organization and other internal stakeholders
      4. Participates in industry events, trade shows and field sales calls.
      5. Acts as the subject matter expert for product documentation and training
      6. Acts as a Product Management evangelist by providing thought leadership on solutions to business problems

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of progressive experience developing/updating products, leading company-wide product implementation efforts and on-going Product Management with increasing levels of responsibility
    • Experience working with eCommerce merchants
    • Experience in International shipping and satisfying requirements for customs clearance
    • Experience in building applications that require UX/UI design
    • Experience building applications that communicate using API technology.
    • Excels in an innovative and collaborative environment.
    • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), creative, and analytical skills
    • Ability to effectively interact with executive teams
    • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to embrace and identify opportunities within a changing landscape
    • Extensive product and process knowledge, planning abilities, problem solving, and organizational skills.
    • Quantitative expertise in conducting business analysis, utilizing economics, financial statements, and statistics.
    • Experienced with Requirements Management and Project/Issue Tracking Software applications like JIRA and Confluence
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or Supply Chain; MBA Preferred
