  • Overview

    The Janitorial/Sanitation Teammate is responsible for enhancing the work environment and providing a positive experience for our associates, customer, visitors, and vendors. This is accomplished by the cleaning and sanitizing the office and warehouse while adhering to Elovations’ standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity. The ideal sanitation/maintenance associate is detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. They are responsible for the general cleaning of the facility and grounds.


    • Public Areas: Keeps public access areas clean and maintains them according to employer standards. Maintain grounds, walk ways, picnic tables and parking lots areas. Cleans windows, doors, carpets, and floors. Dusts all entry areas.
    • Offices:       Dust furniture, walls, desks, cabinets. Sweep, mop and/or vacuum. Clean windows and doors – interior and exterior at ground level. Empty garbage.
    • Break Areas: Clean tables, chairs, and kitchen areas. Wipes down all flat surfaces to include: tables, chairs, tops of refrigerators, vending machines, counters, microwaves (inside and out) and lockers.   Collect garbage and empties trash receptacles. Sweep and mop floors. Replace soda machine cartridges. Keep beverage supplies stocked.
    • Restrooms: Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Wiping down and/or disinfecting surfaces.       Sweep and mop. Collect garbage.
    • Grounds keeping: Daily clean-up of outside of premises to include trash removal.       Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, by spreading snow melting chemicals.
    • Cleaners and Chemicals: Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
    • Inventory: Monitors and reports on the inventory of cleaning supplies. Maintains the housekeeping storage room in a neat and organized fashion. Reports any maintenance concerns or repairs to the appropriate personnel.         Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Aids maintenance staff and other staff members as needed.
    • Equipment: Ensure all sanitation equipment is in good working order to permit you to perform your duties in an efficient manner that is consistent with the company’s standards of quality.
    • Meetings & Banquets: Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, and chairs to prepare facilities for group activities and events such as banquets and meetings.      
    • Safety: Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Floors are always free of debris and tools are in good, clean working condition. Report any equipment or facility abuse to the Supervisor.
    • Reporting Measurements: Ensure all warehouse sanitation activity records are prepared in a timely manner and effectively maintained. Review goals and standards to monitor achievement.
    • Cross Training: Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of other positions. Assist as required. Act as backup at times of absence or vacation.
    • Other responsibilities: may include painting; using mechanical sweepers and scrubbers; rack, wall, and ceiling cleaning. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested


    Job Specifications

    • Demonstrated ability to read, speak, and understand English to maintain required sanitation records.
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
    • Familiarity with materials handling and radio frequency equipment is beneficial.
    • 1 or more years of warehouse sanitation experience preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Light maintenance is a plus.
    • Always Represents the Company in a professional manner.
    • Ability to withstand extreme cold or heat, facility is not temperature controlled.
    • Must have a clean background check, reliable transportation, can work alone, and good with consistency.


    Work Environment & Physical Demands

    The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations. The work environment includes working indoors and outdoors with the varying weather conditions year-round.


    • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Standing and walking is required 8-10 hours a day.
    • Good physical condition, able to lift 25 lbs. frequently and repetitively. Lifting over 50 lbs. may be required at times but only while “team lifting.”
    • Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
    • Requires contact with cleaning chemicals, paints, occasional use of ladders and or material handling equipment.
    • Job requires extended periods of walking and/or standing
    • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
