  • Overview

    The Operations Supervisor is responsible for all day-to-day functions related to delivery and returns parcel processing. The Operations Supervisor will directly manage an hourly workforce of 30 to 55+ employees with assistance from the operations and supervisory staffs. The Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Facility Manager. Functions include but not limited to; staff management, daily operations planning, sort configuration optimization, operational metric reporting, and liaison between operation and Newgistics transportation and USPS departments.


    • Ensure a safe work environment by coaching employees and addressing potential safety hazards
    • Manage a warehouse production crew (30 to 55+ employees) with assistance from the supervisory staff
    • Perform merit performance reviews with all Newgistics employed warehouse staff
    • Plan and manage production, staffing, inventories, coordinate a successful daily start-up
    • Oversee the shipping operation for both the Delivery and Returns operations
    • Successfully communicate with carriers and transportation department to manage both delivery and pickup schedules
    • Enforce company policies and procedures and be able to affectively address personnel issues as outlined by HR procedures
    • Establish a successful rapport with local postal contact and Newgistics USPS department
    • Become resident expert in both the Delivery and Returns processing software and be responsible for training in all functional areas
    • Collect and report all daily operational metrics
    • Resolve issues affecting the daily operations in an efficient and timely manner to obtain the optimum results possible
    • Responsible for securing facility and daily close out procedures

    • 2-4 year supervisory experience in small parcel environment
    • Ability to work flexible schedule depending on the operational needs
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with computer skills. (MS Word and Excel)
    • Must be a team player with excellent people and organizational skills
    • Must be able to motivate, coach, train, reward, and recognize employees
    • 2 - 4 year degree preferred but not required
    • Must be knowledgeable in OSHA and Fire safety regulations
